Kexint MMC-16 APC Female to 2 X MTP-8 APC Female 16 Fibers Jumper MMC Breakout Cable

Product Description

MMC-16 to 2 x MTP®-8 Breakout Cable Overview

The MMC fiber cable is equipped with an MMC connector, a Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) multi-fiber optical connector designed to terminate single-mode and multimode fiber cables up to 2.5mm in diameter. It employs novel TMT ferrule technology harmonized with the MT/MT-16 alignment structure. Individual connector access in the most extremely dense connector environments is easily accomplished using revolutionary DirectConec™ push-pull boot technology.

The breakout cable aggregates multiple MTP®-8 connectors into an MMC-16 connector, streamlining infrastructure and helping optimize both space and network reliability. Therefore, MMC connectivity enables solutions that minimize the space required across multiple applications, including structured cabling, high fiber count data center interconnects, and high-bandwidth applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is an MMC connector?

The MMC is a Very Small Form Factor (VSFF) multi-fiber optical connector. It is significantly smaller than traditional MPO connectors, allowing for 3x the density in cabling ports while maintaining high performance.

2. How does the DirectConec™ push-pull boot benefit installation?

The DirectConec™ technology allows for effortless insertion and extraction of connectors even in extremely high-density environments where finger access is limited. You simply push or pull the boot to engage or disengage.

3. Can this breakout cable be used in standard data center environments?

Yes, it is specifically designed for high-density data center structured cabling, high-bandwidth applications, and interconnects where space-saving is a priority.

4. What is the typical insertion loss for this cable?

This cable utilizes TMT Elite™ technology which provides a low insertion loss (IL) of ≤0.35dB, ensuring high efficiency in signal transmission.

5. Is the MMC-16 cable compatible with MTP®/MPO hardware?

This specific breakout cable aggregates two MTP®-8 connectors into one MMC-16 connector, making it an ideal bridge between traditional MTP® infrastructure and high-density MMC solutions.

6. What fiber type and jacket material are used?

The cable uses OS2 9/125μm single-mode G.657.A1 fiber and is finished with an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket, suitable for various indoor installation environments.
